Food and beverages

Heating, cooling, drying, distilling and fermenting are just a few of the steps which are necessary in industrial food processing. These processes are generally executed using water, steam or thermal oil. For several decades now, ARI-Armaturen has been a strong partner for this kind of application.

Typical applications in the food industry:

Sugar production
Sugar beet processing is an important step in the manufacture of sugar. A syrup referred to as thick juice is obtained from the beet as part of this process, amongst other things by adding steam, and used later on for the actual sugar. Crystallised sugar, sugar solution and glucose are other steps in the production process. All of them need heat, which is normally produced using steam. From the steam generation system in the boiler house through the main steam distribution and pressure reducing stations to the heat exchangers and the supply pipes to the points of use, ARI valves are first choice when absolute reliability is a must.

STEVI control valves, FABA bellows valves, SAFE safety valves, PREDU pressure reducing valves, check valves and strainers can all be found in the steam pipes. ARI ENCOsys heat exchange systems or ARI PREsys pressure reducing stations supply exactly the required amount of steam to the final consumers – every time without fail. ARI CONA steam traps, ARI CORsys condensate return systems and of course FABA stop valves are other suitable products if condensate needs to be discharged and returned efficiently.

Baking and frying
Thermal oil is commonly used in the production of industrially baked or deep-fried foods. It has the advantage that it functions at high temperature and relatively low pressures. Furthermore, the oil circulates in a closed circuit. In contrast to steam, no condensate needs to be discharged in a complicated additional step, nor does treated water have to be supplied regularly. The ARI portfolio includes all products necessary to use thermal oil: FABA stop valves, STEVI control valves, SAFE safety valves, PRESO pressure regulating valves, check valves and strainers.

Typical applications in the beverage industry:

Soft drinks
Heat, normally produced using steam, is required for various processes in the manufacture of beverages such as Cola. From the steam generation system in the boiler house through the main steam distribution and pressure reducing stations to the heat exchangers and the supply pipes to the points of use, ARI valves are first choice.

Beer
Heat, normally produced using steam, is required for various processes in order to brew beer.
